1.Create your account

2. Search for articles

3.View records and add to your folder
Open records that seem pertinent to your search, and go beyond the first page of citations to be sure you don’t miss good articles.

1. What could SCSU do to make your stay on campus better?
Personally, I like SCSU very much. I have been here for almost 4 years and I really enjoy my school life in here. I live off-campus and a little far away from school so I drive to school everyday. I hope university could have more parking lots because I found that the main parking lot was full sometimes and I almost late for school. In this case, I could do nothing but park my car in the wrong area. As a result, I alway had a ticket. So, I think university should establish more parking lots.

2. Could you tell me a secret about yourself that very few people here know about and that shows us well, who you are and what you stand for?
I am good at playing ping-pong. I played ping-pong since I was 7 years old. I like this sport because of my father. My father is a ping-pong coach so he trained me very well. In addition attending school, I played ping-pong in the rest of my free time. I won a lot of awards and a national awards. However, due to the stress of study, I did not have much time to practice it since I went to university.
3. Which country`s food do you like the most? What are the similarities and differences between it and your own culture`s food?
I like Chinese foos most which is also my own culture's food. No food is better than Chinese food. As we all know, Chinese food is famous in the America. Although it is not very dediate, it tastes really good. Personally, I like spicy Chinese food most. Also, I am good at cooking.
4. What are the typical greetings in your culture and what do they mean?
In my country, people usually say hello while shake hands to each other when they meet. This way to show greetings to friends is used to many countries. In my country, we do not have much red tape in our daily life. When we have a formal meeting, we give hugs to each other. I think it is the best and the simplest way to greet someone.
5.What kind of government is in charge of your home country, how did it affect your life and how has democracy in America been a change?
In my mind the Chinese government is the autocracy and the authoritarian government by the most powerful people. We can hardly feel the existence of democracy in our life. In contrast, i believe America government is a democratic government. People have their rights to comment on their government. So people can speak very freedom and chase after their dreams used to practice.
6. What different modes of transportation are used in your country?
In China we have private automobile, public transportation like subway and bus. In different cities people will take different transportation. In the big city like Beijing or Shanghai, people would like choose subway or bus because of the traffic jam, however in the small town like my hometown FuNing, people will drive in the smooth road.
7. At what age do you start school? Are you under a lot of stress in school?
I was strating school at 6 years old as most children do in my country. In my country's education, teachers believe that students should practise very much that will have a good grade to go to university. So before we get in universtiy, the students will have much homework and so many tests to work. Most students under a lot of stress in the school, which American students can't believe.
8. What religious holidays or other cultural events do you or others celebrate; can you explain your traditions for each?
In China the famous cultural events are Spring Festvial, the Mid-autumn Festival, and lantern festival dumplings.
For the Spring Festvial all family should come together and eat really hearty dinner. The Mid-autumn Festival we will eat Chinese traditonal dessert called mooncake and watch moon with family. During the lantern festival dumplings we celebrate harvest Season of the year, we usually eat dumplings and "YUAN XIAO".

Well, in my daily life I do not have any ritual in regards to religious beliefs, cause I dont have any religious beliefs. In addition, most Chinese do either. However, some elder people may have daily rituals. They usually prayed god bless they or their family or before eating prayed for the food.
9. How would you describe famous sports in your country?
When we talk about the most proud of sports in my country, is must be ping-pang which is very famous in the world. Because our athletes won 13 consecutive the world champion and take recently fourth Olympic champion. So ping-pang is the Chinese national ball game.

For most of children in my country, they will starting the class 8 a.m in the morning. So the children usually get up in the 7 a.m, then their parents send them to school after the quick breakfast. The school time end at 5 p.m, the children will be taken back to home by therim parents. After dinner, the children should finish their homework and watch animated cartoon before go to bed.
